REGARD Victorian Acrostic Ring (1882)

Description:

This magnificent example of Victorian sentiment is a real conversation piece. Six bright gemstones laid across the finger, embedded amongst a crown of cream-colored pearls, collectively form a secret message.

Borrowing the first letter from the name of each gemstone, this so-called "Acrostic" ring spells out REGARD, with the stones being Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, a second Ruby, and Diamond. This romantic messaging is characteristic of Victorian jewelry, ever symbolic yet discreet!

Specs:

• Each of the colored gemstones measures approximately 1.75-2mm in diameter
• The pearls each measure approximately 2-2.5mm in diameter
• The top of the ring measures about 10mm from top to bottom by 15mm across the finger. 
• This ring is a size 8.5. Please contact us for custom sizing inquiries.
• Dating to 1882, this ring may show signs of wear commensurate with its age. It has been evaluated to ensure the stones are secure and the metal in good condition, and it has been fully cleaned.
