Old Mine Cut Diamond | 0.61 ct | H VS1
Description
This lovely diamond was reclaimed from an antique piece of jewelry, and was most likely fashioned into a cut stone 150-200 years ago.
Before the advent of modern gem-cutting technology, diamonds were cut by hand, often at the site of the mine and under low-light conditions like gaslight or candlelight. The resulting cuts are charmingly irregular and each one is distinct.
This intensely clear and sparkling stone is a beautiful example of a handcut, antique diamond.
