This Relic style pendant features an ancient coin circa 420-405 BC. One side of the coin depicts an owl holding a lizard in its talons and the reverse side features the helmeted head of Athena. The owl, representing wisdom, is a common symbol of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, war and the crafts.

Our Relic styles are handcrafted using traditional sandcasting techniques. The bezel surrounding this coin was formed from wax that was used to create a mold in sand. Molten gold was poured into this mold, resulting in the rich, one-of-a-kind texture you see.
