Dahlia is named for the deep raspberry dahlias that bloom in fall, long after the rest of the garden has faded. A 0.72 ct square spinel in rich raspberry red sits in 14k yellow gold, small enough to layer and bright enough to wear on its own. For centuries spinel was mistaken for ruby; one of the most famous "rubies" in the British crown jewels is actually a spinel.
