Damson | Victorian Garnet Half Hoop Ring, approx. 1.0 ctw
Damson takes its name from the dusky little plum, and its five cushion-cut garnets share that same deep purple, brightening to raspberry where the light comes through. Made around 1872, the stones step down in a graduated row over a gallery of scrolling gold wirework, with engraved foliate shoulders tapering into a slim band of 15k yellow gold. Inside, a complete set of British hallmarks records where and when it was assayed, a satisfying bit of provenance you can read for yourself.
