Halcyon Locket | Antique Guilloché Enamel Heart | circa 1900
An antique 14K yellow gold heart locket in guilloché enamel, the kind of piece that carries a little history with it. Guilloché is an old craft, an intricate pattern cut into the metal by hand-turned engine lathes, then sealed under translucent enamel so the light plays across the engraving below. It's rarely practiced today, which makes a piece like this feel all the more special. Here the technique gives you an engine-turned sunburst radiating from the center, glowing beneath glassy blue enamel and framed by a crisp white border.
It opens to hold what you want to keep close, and hangs from its original chain, dotted with tiny guilloché enamel hearts that echo the pendant. The chain measures about 12 inches, a choker length that sits high at the collar. It can be extended on request for the perfect fit.
A one-of-a-kind antique, found and ready for its next chapter.
