Larkspur | Edwardian Sapphire & Diamond Half Hoop Ring, approx. 0.92 ctw
Larkspur is named for the tall summer flower in the deepest shade of blue, and three sapphires bring that same inky color to this ring, with the largest at the center. Pairs of tiny antique diamonds sit between them like flecks of light, each stone held in slender claws. Turn it to the side and the gallery opens into a row of looping gold scrolls, while the shoulders are carved with fluted, leaf-like grooves that sweep into a slim band of warm 18k yellow gold. Made around 1908, it carries British hallmarks inside the band that record where and when it was assayed.
