Snowdrop | Victorian Diamond Half Hoop Ring, approx. 0.90 ctw

Sale price$ 2,685.00

Snowdrop is named for the first small white flowers of late winter, and five old mine cut diamonds bloom across this ring the same way, graduating from the largest at the center to the smallest at each end. Made around 1900, they're held in slender claws above a carved, scrolling gallery, and their soft cushioned outlines and broad facets give a warm, glowing sparkle that's very different from a modern diamond. The scrollwork carries down the shoulders into a slim band of 18k yellow gold, and inside, a complete set of British hallmarks records where and when it was assayed.
